We knew from the beginning that we wanted to make our tubs from concrete. We love the weight, permanence and natural feel of the material, but we didn’t want to make a concrete bathtub that felt like a sidewalk. It needed to have its own character and be something you knew was a Pacific Soak the moment you saw it.
The design came together through years of making, testing and learning from master artisans in Hawai‘i and Oregon. We took inspiration from the deep immersion of traditional Japanese ofuro bathing, then developed our own fiber-reinforced concrete mix and internal reinforcement system to give the tub strength without all the bulk of traditional cast concrete.
Simple by Design
At its core, Pacific Soak is incredibly simple: a concrete tub, water and heat. No software, no complicated controls and no unnecessary parts. If you can build a fire, you can heat your tub.
Wood-fired soaking is where we started, but we know it won’t be right for everyone. Every tub has standard 1½-inch upper and lower ports, so it can also be connected to a chiller, filtration system or compatible electric, propane or natural-gas heater.
Use it hot. Use it cold. Keep it completely off-grid or build out the system that makes sense for your space. We’ve left that part open on purpose.
